Join us in the garden …

‘Children are like tiny flowers; they are varied and need care, but each is beautiful alone and glorious when seen in the community of peers.’  -Friedrich Froebel, founder of Kindergarten concepts

Children’s Garden opened its doors in October 2010, as a newly established International Preschool providing a holistically based early childhood education for the International and Danish community of the greater Copenhagen area.  Housed in a fully renovated villa, the state of the art facilities of the Garden House offer a contemporary, spacious and graceful setting for families. The location in the town of Hellerup, north of Copenhagen, provides easy access to public transportation, as well as a close proximity to a wide variety of schools for primary and secondary education.

Curriculum goals dovetail with international, as well as Danish requirements for preschool learning, and meet the standards for direct entry to Scandinavian school systems, the British Key Stage One, as well as the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.  A childhood at Children’s Garden ensures family goals for continued education by a personal learning plan, geared to support the individual child through the ages of 2-6.

Children’s Garden seeks to provide children and families with the foundation skills necessary for a well-balanced lifetime of exploration.  The Universal Child Program draws insight from a wide range of contemporary pedagogical theory, notably International Lifelong Learning, Reggio Emilia concepts of early learning, exploration and documentation, as well as approaches to children’s culture and development.  Through emphasis on natural rhythms and patterns of life, The Universal Child Program encourages young children to develop a deep connection with their environment, and expand intercultural competence in a multicultural, multilingual setting.

Children’s Garden is home to a professional, knowledgeable staff, dedicated to the most recent research and progressive pedagogical approaches in early learning.  Our commitment is to provide families with an inspirational and caring environment in which to nurture their young children and support them to be their best version of themselves.  Our role at Children’s Garden is to help your children discover who they are as individuals, and to follow their interests to reach a learning goal.  We have a concept at Children’s Garden, which is, ‘Do what you do best’; we understand that children come to us with inherited competences, and with this approach we are able to support our children to all share and participate in working towards one common goal.  We want our children to be the best they can in every aspect of their lives, which serves as a platform for lifelong learning.
